Chief Executive Officer
Antonella Segre has been the Chief Executive Officer at ConnectGroups for the past seven years, coming from a similar role in a Not for Profit Organisation responsible for the brokering of federal funds to run projects for children at risk of disengaging from education and training.
She has travelled extensively, changing countries every 2 to 3 years. This lifestyle has contributed to her knowledge of 5 languages and her cultural awareness. She has held varied positions all over the world before she turned her passion to ConnectGroups. She brings her versatility and outstanding management, project management, marketing qualities and excellent hands on experience in developing and improving business opportunities for not-for-profit organisations to ConnectGroups.
With 27 years’ experience working within the corporate, community and training & education sectors, she boasts a proven track record for successful completion of projects, funding opportunities and developing partnerships and networks within the government, corporate and not-for-profit sectors.
She is best known to her staff and Board of Management as a dynamic, vibrant and dedicated “leader”. When not at work she is “consumed” in enabling the dreams of her 3 children!
Corporate Services Coordinator
Juanaili commenced as a Project Officer in July 2011 before becoming Administration Officer in October 2011. Her major objectives are providing administrative support to the Executive Officer and to Connect Group Board Members, as well as being responsible for general office duties and events support. Juanaili enjoys directing individuals who contact ConnectGroups toward the right self help and support group for them.
Juanaili graduated from the Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas – Venezuela, with a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Relations and a Specialisation/ Postgraduate qualification in Organisational Development and gained the position of Compensation and Benefits Coordinator of a large Department Store Company in Venezuela.
Juanaili is 100% people oriented and enjoys helping others. She volunteered for two years in Venezuela, giving support to school aged children affected by extreme poverty; developing after school fun activities and giving them lots of cuddles and love. These days, her adorable son gets those cuddles and love.
Community Development Officer
Over the last 20 years Josephine's career was focused primarily on Retail, Marketing, Sales and Public Relations with spending her free time enjoying life and volunteering for various causes.
In recent years Josephine embarked on a new path in life recognising her strong willingness and ability for helping people in need. With this passion succeeding her primary life focus, this journey has led her in the direction of cultivating her experiences of helping people through volunteering, to developing a career that allows her to dedicate her time predominantly to a cause such as aiding the development of community support for those in need.
Having joined ConnectGroups in 2014 she is extremely excited to bring another perspective to the role and looks forward to building strong bonds with the people throughout the community as she establishes her foundation within a wonderful organisation that enables her to pursue her strong belief of ' sometimes we all need a little help'.
Fiona commenced as Finance Officer in September 2014. Fiona graduated from Curtin University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business and has since worked as a taxation accountant and bookkeeper. She has also been involved in the development of accounting software; providing software support, writing software and training manuals, and public speaking.
After taking a career break to raise her family, Fiona has come to Connect Groups with a passion for helping other people.
When not at work, Fiona volunteers as a dog trainer. She also quilts, sews clothes for her family, and creating things.
Christine is a former IT consultant turned blogger, freelance writer, and community advocate. A native Canadian, she graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a B.A. in History (Honours) and worked in the tertiary education sector for 16 years. Together with her mining engineer husband, young son, and Labrador, she moved to Europe in 2005 before relocating to Melbourne in 2011 and Perth in 2014. Having spent the last 2.5 years working for a child protection NGO in Melbourne, Christine has developed a keen insight into vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, and the social imperative of delivering effective programs to address real need. To that end, Christine is delighted to be a part of the ConnectGroups team who are dedicated to maximizing the human potential, and looks forward to continuing to engage the community in ways that make a difference.
Project Administration and Communications Officer
Amanda joined the ConnectGroups family in January 2014 as an Administration Officer. It was her debut as both an administrator and as an employee for the not-for-profit sector and she quickly fell in love with the organisation. After taking a six month break to travel the coast of Australia, Amanda returned in 2015 fresh-faced and eager to continue working with the team. Her role at ConnectGroups now includes the marketing and branding of the organisation, monitoring social media, and managing the LIFt small grants program.
When she’s not at work, Amanda engrosses herself in singing, creative writing, film-making and sewing.
Outreach Project Support Officer
Danielle joined ConnectGroups in February 2016. She has worked primarily within chronic conditions and falls prevention, and has always had a passion for working to achieve positive mental health in the community. Danielle has completed a Bachelor of Preventive Health and believes that Self Help and Support Groups have many benefits ranging from reduced isolation to the sharing of knowledge and skills and, therefore, is delighted to be working for ConnectGroups.
When not working, Danielle enjoys travelling, socialising, cooking, and yoga and meditation in her spare time.
